I am so thankful i can still write songs for God even when i'm not feeling particularly close to Him.. can simply write from where i am in this relationship.. so this is it..

wow, it's been ages since i've written proper songs.. sure, i've done bits here and there, but this is pretty complete.. is called Stand Amazed.. i really like this..

added 7/12/06:
I've decided to change the "God" in the bridge to "Lord".. coz i realised that 'Lord' is more intimate.. its use implies personal or covenant relationship. so yupz.. want to use that there.. 'God' is more about His divine nature, His majesty, authority etc. which is fine for the rest.

also came across a verse that sort of captures my heart for this song. Ezekial 20:40a - "For on my holy mountain, the high mountain of Israel, declares the Sovereign LORD, there in the land the entire house of Israel will serve me, and there I will accept them." sure, we worship God for He is truly amazing to us mere man. But even more amazing is that He accepts us (as fragrant incense - v41). How often i'm afraid that i'm more a resounding gong or clanging cymbol before Him.. but yupz.. the knowledge that me and my worship is accepted is simply.. well.. amazing!!!!

hmm.. decided to put up recordings of the songs too.. not sure it'll bless anyone but yar, at least it'll help me keep track of things. I just record it on my cheapo mp3 player; so yar, just me and my guitar in my room.. don't expect too much.. if u don't like them, it's ok.. the songs aren't written to be 'liked' (well, at least i like em).

sigh.. i really need to 'wake up my idea'.. i've been not putting enough effort in seeking God.. been playing and studying more.. plus my values are sometimes a bit warped.. not finding my significance in God alone.. think is a gd time to reflect on this song...

hmm.. actually i'm still pondering over this is probably a good enough temporary title so I can remember it. anyway is ok.. no one else should be using it so is fine i think..

Okay.. this is one of those songs i write that can only be a work of God.. the chord progressions and all is just a bit too technically ok.. is my third song that's been used in public.. makes me very happy that God actually uses some of the songs i write for His worship in the church. Nowadays the songs i write are more for my personal worship time. And really, my music ability is very average, songs i write appeal to a very 'select' group.. =P. So yar, will just keep writing and if there's more to share with everyone, that's great, if not, it's still a great privellege and joy.

Oh, the chorus is a different interpretation from when i first wrote it. But yar. i've sorta leaned towards this one after thinking lots about it. Is just the "forever" part.

Just going to post some older songs up.. this one is just a simple song of praise.

hmm.. last night was just trying stuff with my guitar and started this one.. is stilla 'beta' version but i still wanna put it on here.. This song is to myself.. when i'm finding things hard.. e.g. struggling against certain temptation. It's also inspired a by 'the parable of the lost son' - prodigal son. Is more the perspective of the brother who stayed with the Father.

I remember the first time i ever saw snow.. it was like 2 and a half years back i think.. in Tasmania.. winter was actually over, but surprisingly there was still snow in certain parts of Tasmania.. It was a wonderful surprise!! Certainly made things a whole lot more interesting! Anyway, it was beautiful.. so white and bright.. when the light shines on it, i can't help but squint my eyes coz it's just so bright! Taking a photo in the day is like a photo in heaven.. everything just becomes so bright.. But you know, the snow there was horridly dirty.. coz of the cars and people etc.. when u look real close, it's not nice at all.. but still was gd enough for me.. i cna't imagine the snow u find on a mountain top without the pollution.. must be even 'whiter' than what i saw. Anyway, weeks later i came across a verse in the Psalms about being cleansed whiter than snow.. and i was like... wow! whiter than snow!! That's incredible!! How could i ever be like that.. with all my faults and errors and sin. But that's how clean Jesus' blood makes me.. and i was inspired to write this song..
